Result!
I had a phone call from a fellow student from my tutorial group, and she told me our results were in, so I quickly went to the site to get my results and, much to my amazement, and total delight, I'd managed another 85%.
I honestly hadn't imagined that I'd get as good a mark as my previous one, so I'm over the moon with it.:)
Now all I have to do, is to try and shift this virus that I've got, so that I can concentrate on the next Block of the Module - much easier said than done at the moment, and I'm even having a job to concentrate enough to read the set books. :(
I managed to finish reading Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome, and I've also even read all the critics for that section, but I'm now on to Tom's Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce and, although I'm enjoying the story, I'm finding it a job to concentrate enough to keep reading the book, let alone all the critics. I manage a few pages, and then I find that I've dozed off - not the fault of the story, but just this virus dictating to me! Grrrr
I'm really, really, hoping that I feel better soon, as there is so much reading to be done in this section, and I just can't concentrate enough to do it at the moment :(
I've not only got TMG to read, as well as all the critics attached to this section, but there is also Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D Taylor, to get through - although I do remember it being an excellent story, so I'm looking forward to that :)
I did read all of the set books (apart from Swallows and Amazons) at the beginning of the summer last year, and I do still remember the basic plot-line of them all but, of course, I need a lot more than that to be able to complete the activities necessary to get my TMA04 written.
Let's just hope the virus goes soon, so I can get what little energy I would normally have, back again :)

I did this course last year! The first time it presented! Absolutely adored it from start to finish! Did (relatively) badly at the beginning, then got my DSA set up and rocketed up to the level I always knew I could achieve :D Only got a grade 2 pass because of the first two essays though, lol.

I'm loving it too, when I'm not pulling my hair out with all the critics! Lol
Boy, do they love the sound of their own voices! {grin}
I just worked it out that, even if I keep getting pass 1's, I'll still only get a Pass 2 for the whole module as, like you, my first TMA was lower :(
The help from the DSA is awesome, isn't it? I wouldn't be able to do any studying without the help I got from them :)
For a long time I didn't think I could get a DSA - I attempted going to bricks-and-mortar uni and had a DSA for that, although I had to drop out after less than a term. So I did 3 courses without it, and then got it for my 4th, the Children's Lit. I'm on my fifth now, a level 1, but struggling with the reading 'cos I've had a major relapse. Still getting good marks though!
I'll be doing 20th century lit next time - like you, I've realised that I just can't do exams! Exams meant that two of my courses ended up grade 3 rather than grade 2 pass, which was rather gutting...
I didn't think I could get a DSA at first - I tried regular uni and had a DSA, but had to drop out after less than a term, so I did 3 courses before I realised I could get the DSA! And it took me ages to realise that no matter how many special arrangements they put in place, I couldn't do exams...two of my courses had exams and because I did so badly in them, I got grade 3 passes rather than the grade 2 that I would have got had I had extended essays...

@Sparks: Yes, this module is my fifth 60-pointer, and I had planned on doing C20th Lit for my last, but I found The Art of English appealed to me more, so will be doing it as my last course to get my BA(Hon)! :)
I'm still struggling with the reading, both the set books and especially, the critics, but I'm hoping it'll come all right in the end. The really weird thing is that, the worse I feel health-wise, the better marks for my TMA's I seem to be getting - strange, but true! Lol
